Day 1
Today's Activities: Arrive in Xian, Airport to hotel transfer
Muslim Street (1 hour):
Walk westward from the Xian city center (teh Bell Tower) and pass the Drum Tower about 100 meters, tourist will see the historical street of Xian Muslim people. Here has ten mosques of different size and tens of thousands of Hui people. It attracts the world for its religious tradition and original habits and customs of Muslim, the reputed snack street, the Great Mosque and the one of the three biggest Old City God's Temple of China. Here is the right plae to experience unqiue historical background and cultural atmosphere of Muslim people.
Day 2
Today's Activities: Xian to Mt. Huashan to Xian
Huashan (2 days):
Located in the Huayin City,120 kilometers east of Xian City of Shaanxi Province, Mount Hua (Huashan, Mount Hua) is one of the China's Five Sacred Taoist Mountains(Hengshan in Shanxi Province, Songshan in Henan Province, Taishan in Shandong Province, Hengshan in Hunan Province). It has a long history of religious significance. The highest peak is the South Peak at 2,154.9 meters.
Day 3
Today's Activities: Xian
Great Mosque (1.5 hours):
Located near the Drum Tower on 30 Huajue Lane of Xian of Shaanxi Province, the Xian Great Mosque is the oldest and one of the most renowned mosques in China, which was built in 742 and renovated in Ming Dynasty and other dynasties. Currently, it is still a popular place of worship of Chinese Muslims (mainly the Hui people). The Great Mosque of Xian is completely Chinese in its construction and architectural style, except for some Arabic lettering and decorations.
Banpo Museum (1 hour):Located in a modern building some three miles to the east of Xian City of Shaanxi Province, the Banpo Museum was built in 1958 and is the first museum constructed at the base of the prehistorical site-Banpo Site. The site marks a settlement that dates to the matrilineal clan commune period of the Neolithic period. Since opened formally in 1958, it has attracted about 2 million people already.
Day 4
Today's Activities: Xian
Shaanxi Historical Museum (2 hours):
Located to the northwest of the Big Wild Goose Pagoda of Xian City, Shaanxi Historical Museum is one of the first huge state museums with modern facilities in China, which was built between 1983 and 2001. It exhibits over 300,000 items including murals, paintings, pottery, coins and bronze, gold, silver objects. It appearance imitates the architectural style of the Tang Dynasty.
Xian City Wall (50 minutes):Constructed originally in the early Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the Xian City wall is not only the most complete city wall that has survived in China, but also one of the largest and most complete ancient military systems of defense in the world. However, as time goes, many sections have been destroyed, only 14 km of wall survived.
Big Wild Goose Pagaoda (1 hour):Situated in southern suburb of Xian of Shaanxi province, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Giant Wild Goose Pagoda or Dayan Pagoda) is a holy Buddhist pagoda, which was built in 652 during the Tang Dynasty. It had five stories originally, and the exterior brick facade was renovated during the Ming Dynasty. Besides, it was used to hold sutras and figurines of Buddha that were bought to China from India by the Buddhist translator and traveler Xuanzang.
Dumplings Feast (1 hour):While travelling in Xian, the delectable dumplings is a must-eat for every tourist from home and abroad. While tasting those delicacies, you will be shocked by the cooks' dazzling cooking methods, including pan-frying, steaming, boiling, deep frying and roasting. The stuffing of the dumplings can be the various vegetables and indigenous meat.
Day 5
Today's Activities: Depart Xian
Bell Tower (30 minutes):
Built in 1384 during the early Ming Dynasty(1368-1644), Xian Bell Tower is a symbol of the Xian City and the largest and best preserved of its kind in China with a 36-meter high wooden tower. The brick base of the Bell Tower is 8.6 meters high and 35.5 meters long on each side. The tower base is square and it covers an area of 1,377 square meters.
Drum Tower (30 minutes):Xian Drum Tower is a two-storied sturcture with a height of 34 meters. The length is 52.6 meters and the width is 38 meters from south to north. Firstly constructed in 1,390 during the reign of Emperor Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty (1,368-1,644), the Drum Tower is a wonderful combination of the style of the Tang (618-907) and the Qing Dynasty(1,644-1,912) since it was renovated twice in 1, 699 and 1, 740.
