West Lake is located in the west part of Hangzhou city, capital of Zhejiang province. It is reputable for the beautiful lake scenery and the relics. It is the famous resort of China and considered as the “paradise on earth”. On 24th June, 2011, it was included in the World Heritage List.

There are dozens of lakes having the same name West Lake. But the most popular one is in the Hangzhou. West Lake in Hangzhou is surrounded by mountains on three sides. It covers an area of 4.37 square kilometers. It is divided by Su Causeway and Bai Causeway into five parts: Outer West Lake, West Inner Lake, North Inner Lake, Little South Lake and Yue Lake. Gu Hill is large and natural erecting in the lake. There have three small man-made islands: Xiao Ying Zhou, Hu Xin Ting , Ruan Gong Dun. In a word, the layout is one hill, two causeways, three islands and five lakes.
