![]() China Weather Climate
The weather in China is always diverse greatly from north to south as well as west to east all the year round for the large area with a wide range
of latitude and longitude, and some areas are far from the sea and some are beside or close to the sea. The complicated terrain gives
complicated climate. Dominated by dry and wet monsoons, the four seasons in China is clear. In summer, influenced by the warm and moist
winds from the seas, most parts of China are hot and rainy. Wuhan, Chongqing, and Nanjing along the Yangtze River are China's three famous
'furnaces'. In winter, the cold and dry winds blowing from the continental land-mass towards the seas are prevalent, so most parts, especially
north China, are cold and dry. In terms of temperature, China can be divided into six zones:
1.Cold-Temperate Zone: include the north part of Heilongjiang Province and Inner Mongolia
(Representative city: Harbin).
2.Mid-Temperate Zone: include Jilin, northernXinjiang, and most of Heilongjiang, Liaoning, and Inner Mongolia (Representative cities:Beijing, Shenyang, Dalian,Urumqi, Hohhot, Dunhuang, Lanzhou) 3.Warm-Temperate Zone: include the area of the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, Shandong, Shanxi, and Hebei Province (Representative cities: Xian, Taiyuan, Luoyang, Jinan, Qingdao, Zhengzhou) 4.Subtropical Zone: include the South of isotherm of Qinling Mountain-Huaihe River, east of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (Representative cities: Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau, Guilin, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Kunming, Dali, Lijiang, Chengdu) 5.Tropical Zone: include the Hainan province, southern Taiwan, Guangdong,and Yunnan Province (Representative cities: Haikou, Sanya) 6.Plateau Climate Zone: include the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (Representative city: Lhasa) Cities Wheather
