Tiananmen Square (50 minutes):

As the largest square all over the world, Tiananmen Square was also a remarkable place of several key events in the history of China, esp, in Chinese modern history, giving the Square more cultural significance. Near the Square, there are governments buildings, Forbidden City, Heavenly Gate, museums and mausoleum.

The Forbidden City, situated at the heart of Beijing City, is most prosperous between 1420 and 1911 during Chinese feudal society, as it is home to 24 emperors. It is precious wealth to China as well as the whole world for the great halls, gates and squares along with the intricate networks of side courtyards, gardens, halls and quarters. As for tour, it is not a single point, Wangfujing Street, Tiananmen Square and Shijingshan Park are not far away.

Yandai Xiejie ( Tobacco Pipe Lean Street ), a quaint 800-year-old hutong located directly north of Yinding Bridge between Qianhai and Houhai in the Shichahai area, used to be famous for sellers of long-stemmed pipes, hence the name. Now, it is a street filled with lots of antique stores and fashionable bars.

Xian Drum Tower is a two-storied sturcture with a height of 34 meters. The length is 52.6 meters and the width is 38 meters from south to north. Firstly constructed in 1,390 during the reign of Emperor Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty (1,368-1,644), the Drum Tower is a wonderful combination of the style of the Tang (618-907) and the Qing Dynasty(1,644-1,912) since it was renovated twice in 1, 699 and 1, 740.

As one of the most well-known Chinese Martial shows in China, Kung Fu Legend is esp warm-accepted at Beijing Red Theater--situated at No.44 of Xingfu Dajie, Workers' Art Palace, Chongwen District.

Hutong in Beijing is just like Nongtang in Shanghai, which has already become a particular symbol of the city. Hutong, namely alleyways, is a maze bearing profound history, where rickshaw is available. Hop one through the narrow alleys, you can truely experience the lifestyle of the locals in Beijing.

Day 3

Mutianyu Great Wall (4 hours):

Mutianyu Great Wall, about only 2.5-hour drive from the heart of Beijing City, is a place with fewer tourists but also boasting wonderful scenery. Optional cable cars are available, and from where it is also convenient to Badaling Great Wall by bus.

Changling tomb, the mausoleum of Emperor Yongle and his empress, was built in 1413, covering an area of 100,000 square meters, as the principal and the best-preserved one among the imperial mausoleums. 

Day 4

Summer Palace (3 hours):

Summer Palace, one of the premier attractions in Beijing and also a well-known tourist attraction all over the world, is among the largest and the best preserved Chinese imperial gardens. It is pleasant to take a ferry boat to spend ten or more minutes cruising on the Kunming Lake. 

Bird Nest is located at the southern part of the Olympic Green in Beijing, which is the main stadium of the 29th Olympiad in 2008. Covering an area of 21 hectares, Bird's Nest has a floor space of 258,000 square meters. It is so large that it can receive 91,000, including 11,000 temporary seats.

Beijing Capital Museum can be regarded as the most modern, integrated and advanced museum in Beijing and even the whole nation, there displayed various kinds of exhibits, including Chinese national history and customs, cultural relics and revolutionary history. Two hours may enrich your understanding of China a lot.

Day 5

Temple of Heaven (1.5 hours):

Temple of Heaven, located in the southeastern part of Beijing City, is a complex of buildings in Taoist style. During Ming and Qing dynasties, it was a place for emperors hosting annual ceremonies praying for good harvest.
